Samuel Alexander is a British self taught green wood carver, craft author and international teacher, based in South Moravia, CZ.

He is drawn to how practicing traditional methods of slow craft can generate mindful breathing spaces between maker and material that can contribute to positive wellbeing.

With a unique, entirely analogue, freehand carving style he creates bulbous vessel forms for ritual and playful utensils inspired by the shapes of nature and harvest. With each piece, he vows to celebrate growth, the passing of time and the use of historic hand tool practices.

Samuel’s spiritual approach to craft and unique style has seen him published in House & Garden Magazine, Country Living, The Guardian, The Financial Times, and in Port Magazine as well as being selected as a TOAST new maker in 2022.
