Walnut 'Pattypan' Drinking Vessel With Urushi

A hand carved drinking vessel from walnut.

Made freehand, using analogue hand tools using green wood carving techniques. 

Lacquered with suki kurome uruhsi using fuki urushi methods. 

This vessel has a unique outer surface, inspired by our rather successful harvest of pattypans this year. There is also a cleft surface detail on the lip that was intentionally split prior to hollowing. This is the most technical vessel of this whole collection. 

This product has been heat tested with boiling water, then left to cool twice and has passed.
