Black Walnut 'Beaker' Drinking Vessel With Black Urushi

A hand carved drinking vessel from black walnut.

Made freehand, using analogue hand tools using green wood carving techniques. 

The vessel features a blend of multiple tool gestures from the axe marks, to the refined finishing cuts from the base to the lip. 

Lacquered with pigmented urushi and suki kurome using fuki urushi methods. 

This product has been heat tested with boiling water, then left to cool twice and has passed.
