Maple 'Harvest' Drinking Vessel With Urushi

A hand carved drinking vessel from field maple.

Made freehand, using analogue hand tools using green wood carving techniques. 

Lacquered with suki kurome using fuki urushi methods. 

The lacquer took to the maple very nicely, leaving a beautiful sheen that reveals the grain and medullary rays

This product has been heat tested with boiling water, then left to cool twice and has passed.
