Walnut 'Harvest' Drinking Vessel With Green Urushi

A hand carved drinking vessel from walnut.

Made freehand, using analogue hand tools using green wood carving techniques. 

Lacquered with green pigmented fukagawa urushi layered with Japanese harvested urushi using fuki methods. 

It has been wonderful to explore these urushi methods and create such an interesting outcome. This is the beginning of a fascinating relationship with lacquer

This product has been heat tested with boiling water, then left to cool twice and has passed.
